Quickbooks could not connect to company file.

    Answer

I have followed all instrctions Quick Install Guide, but I'm still getting the message "QuickBooks could not connect to company file." when I click on "Test Connection to Company File".

I read the prior post on this same issue on your forum and reviewed to make sure I did not miss any steps in the application.

I am running the windows on  parallel with a mac.

    Thanks,

    Jose

Is the company file on the same computer as where DataSynch is installed or are you accessing it over a shared drive?

Do you have QuickBooks open when you are trying to test the connection?

    Answer

     I think problem was solved.

     Here's what I did:

In Quickbooks: Edit> Preferences > Integrated application > Pervasive Software > Check Allow this appllication to read and ....> Check Allow this application to login automatically.

Great! Did you not originally set it to login automatically?

    Answer

No, I just followed the steps in the manual, I don't think if it was mentioned anywhere.

Also, make sure in the installation package you put the link to the newest Salesforce pakcage. I had a lot of trouble installing the package on SF because the I was trying to install 2.4.3 ver. This morning I recevied the link to a newer version and installation went smoothly.

    Answer

Ditto here.  I can't get DataSynch to successfully connect.

OS:  Win Server 2003 SE SP 2
    QB:  Enterprise 9.0
company QB file installed locally on same server DataSynch installed on.  Operating under Administrator login for server at the console.

I've tried with QB closed in both single user and multi user modes.  Our Manage DataSynch screen shows waiting for next synch but I want to run Product and Account Matcher first.

All steps followed -- Pervasive has its own login with Full Access rights and can login automatically

Thanks in advance for your help.

Can you take a look at the Pervasive DataSynch service in the Services panel by going to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and double click on the service. On the logon tab, what does it show to be logging in as?

Ok, so that is the problem. Go ahead and set it to run as the dsserviceuser with password 'P3rv@s!ve'. Then go ahead and restart the service and try connecting with QuickBooks closed.

Still no connection... I changed the service logon to dsserviceuser (it then modified the entry to ".\dsserviceuser") with proper password and restarted the service. QB is closed with no remote users. WebConnector is disabled. Try to test QB connection and it fails... Thank you for your help.
