Timeout problems when trying to "Run Account Matcher Now" for first time

    Answer

I've tried several times today to run the Account Matcher, and it seems to be timing out.  This is the first time running the matcher and we do have a lot of records in both QB and SFDC.

When I run, it will sit for probably 15 minutes, then I get one or both of the messages below.

Sometimes I get a "Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger" error (I have screenshot if you need me to send somewhere), and after clicking ok, it takes me to a screen that says:

    Datasynch is Complete

INFO: Establishing new salesforce.com session due to potential session timeout.

INFO: Integration done. 0 errors, 0 warnings, 1 Info messages.

Sometimes it skipss the debugger error and just goes to the Datasynch is complete page with message above.

Any ideas on how to resolve?

    Answer

DataSynch does not access Visual Studio. Are you sure that the error you are receiving is related to using DataSynch?

The information messages shows that the Account Matcher did complete. When it says that it established a new salesforce.com connection, this means that it may have temporarily lost the connection and then retried to finish.

You can view which Accounts have been linked to Customers in Salesforce by creating a new view in the Accounts tab with the following conditions:

    • Where Customers ListID is not equal to nothing.

The Customer ListID is an automatically generated ID that comes from QuickBooks (this ID is hidden in QuickBooks).

Save the view and then you should be able to see which ones are linked. You can go into a specific Account in the list and verify that it does have a Customer ListID.

How many Customers do you have in QuickBooks?

    Answer

You're right - it does appear that it matched a significant number of records.  The error messages threw me off.  The debugger error is happening when running the matcher, and takes me to the "DataSynch is Complete" page when I click OK, so I assume they are related, since I'm not doing any other actions.

    We have about 1500 records.

So my next question is, what is the best way to resolve the accounts that were not matched?  I didn't see a wizard tool similar to the product matcher.  Is the best thing to rename any accounts that don't match and run the Account matcher again?

Or...is there a way to manually insert the Customers List ID in SFDC (and if so, how do I obtain this number from QB since it is hidden?)

Thanks for your help and quick replies!

If the Customers do not exist as Salesforce.com Accounts, you can run the Account Matcher Insert All. This will take the remaining Customers from QuickBooks and insert them into Salesforce as Accounts.

If those Customers are however in Salesforce, but the Salesforce Account Names and QuickBooks Customer names are different , then the names will have to be fixed to be the same.

Yes, you would want to make sure that any unmatched Accounts are renamed to be the same as they are in QuickBooks and then run the Account Matcher again. This prevents duplication when you run DataSynch for the first time.

Unfortunately QuickBooks hides that information from you. There is not way to get thost ListID's.
